Robin Padilla urges men to stop masturbating: ‘Celibacy is the secret to spiritual power’
Action star Robin Padilla encourages men to stop masturbating and imparted a knowledge he personally learned regarding the matter — the secret to spiritual power, he says, is celibacy.
Padilla took to Instagram today, Nov. 8 to share a message reminding men to refrain from masturbating. The photo he uploaded, which appears to be citing a study conducted by researchers from Zhejiang University in China as reported by Men’s Health last year, states that men’s testosterone levels increase by up to 45 percent in only seven days after ceasing to masturbate.
“Nagawa ko na nong araw ito after my divorce 11 years ago,” claimed Padilla. “Pagkagaling ko ng India after mag aral ng Yoga at Kalaripayattu (Indian martial arts) I literally can leap very high and do some fancy kicks, strikes and blows!”
(I was already able to do this after my divorce 11 years ago. When I arrived from India, after studying yoga and kalaripayattu, I literally can leap very high and do some fancy kicks, strikes and blows.)

Padilla recounted that the energy he felt coursing through his veins was “bursting like a fountain.” Back then he refrained from sex and masturbation as part of mantra and prayer, because celibacy gives one spiritual power. Even Mahatma Gandhi’s wisdom and intelligence, according to a book he read, came from celibacy.
“This will be very hard for the men now kasi wow na wow ang dami ng babae ngayon maging scientific man, statistics man at sexual man outnumbered ang lalaki sa dami ng population ng babae (men are outnumbered by women),” he noted. “Sexual intercourse is non-negotiable but I’m sure masturbating can be negotiable.”
Padilla shared that men who control their orgasm during sexual intercourse give women the best orgasm. He explained that controlling men’s orgasm ensures that no energy is wasted as everything will be absorbed physically, emotionally and spiritually by both men and women.
“Alam ko shocking ito sa mga lalaki at mahirap ito ipractice dahil this is not the culture that we practice especially the men,” he stated. “This (sic) are just informations (sic) that we can try minsan kasi we have to try different things to satisfy our hunger.”
(I know this is shocking to men and it is hard to do because this is not a cultural practice [here in the Philippines]. These are just pieces of information that we can try once in a while because we have to try different things to satisfy our hunger.)
Padilla is not alone in advocating for celibacy. A group of men on Reddit, an online discussion website, formed a support group combating porn and masturbation addiction. JB
