Teresita “Winwyn” Marquez vows to remain an education advocate after ending her reign as the first Filipino Reina Hispanoamericana.
Marquez in an Instagram post on Tuesday said children will always have a special place in her heart.
In light of this, the beauty queen noted how she strong believes “the value of education can stand on firmer ground by strengthening the family.”
“This may be a tall order given society’s varying circumstances but we should at least dream and work for a better future for the human family,” she added.
Marquez has been engaging in community programs for children’s education since she was crowned last year.
The 26-year-old beauty queen also expressed her gratitude for the opportunities the title has opened for her.
“My reign as Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 has been filled with wondrous experiences. Experiences that transformed my life in meaningful ways I never imagined could even be possible,” she said.
She said the crown also paved way for her to meet “amazing people from various walks of life and different cultures.”
Marquez also shared this led to a realization she “can empower people toward the fruition of their dreams and aspirations.”
“My reign may end but my journey toward helping create a better world for the little ones has just begun,” she said.
Marquez relinquished her crown to Venezuela’s Nariman Battikha Yanyi during the Reina Hispanoamericana 2018 coronation held in Bolivia on Saturday, Nov. 3. /muf
