Pill-popping performer sings the blues
A once Popular Performer has been turning to pills to cope with depression. Alarmed relatives have expressed concern because PP refuses to venture out of the house when overcome by the blues. Perhaps it’s because Formidable Rival has overtaken PP on both the professional and personal fronts. PP is languishing in career limbo, with a home life in shambles, too.
While FR is much-loved in the industry, PP has earned notoriety due to a volatile temper and unprofessional ways. Why should PP even wonder why FR is basking in success?
Abandoning pals
Controversial Personality needed the help of Struggling Artists to get a project off the ground. Through SA’s hard work, CP’s project hit the jackpot. How did CP repay them?
He turned his back on SA and passed on a follow-up project to Major Player!

Insiders were stunned by the behavior of Pretty Starlet’s Fussy Chaperone. During an out-of-town shoot, PS was to share a dressing room with Senior Actress. Upset, FC asked SA to dress up somewhere else.
Obviously FC believed that PS, as star of the show, deserved her own dressing room.
Talk about delusions of grandeur.
Blindsided
Veteran Star is pleased that karma has caught up with Unfaithful Partner.
VS insists that UP’s current health woes are caused by past transgressions in their relationship. “He’s being punished,” VS scoffs.
Apparently, UP’s sight is now impaired. “A certain drug to remedy erectile dysfunction, which UP is taking, is now being linked to blindness,” VS says.
Power trip
Senior Actress was all set to guest in a high-profile project. However, she was replaced because the production staff was afraid that sparks might fly between her and Hunky Costar.
SA and HC had a feud in the past and the crew wanted to avoid a skirmish on the set.
Then again, could it be that HC and Powerful Backers had SA sacked just to show everyone who’s in charge? Power-tripping is a favorite pastime for PB.
Top of the Talk Shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Grace Lee on criticism that she’s enjoying all the media attention (concerning her and P-Noy): “I’m sure people will say that about me. But as long as my family and the people around me … believe in who I am, I can live with myself … I’m in this industry … I tried as much as possible to accommodate everyone and be polite. I hope those are not used against me.” (Hmm, parang statement.)
Kris Bernal, asked if Jolo Revilla is still courting her: “Hindi na ako tinawagan, hindi na rin ako tinext. And ako rin, ’di ko rin ginawa ’yun. So, talagang wala, ’di na kami nagkita … Hindi naman nakakapanghinayang, kasi magkaibigan naman kami, eh.” (True.)
Nancy Castiglione on rumors that she’s the reason for Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho’s alleged breakup: “I don’t know what’s going on there.” (Vicki Belo just picked a name randomly, gano’n kaya?)
James Yap on his failed marriage: “Wala naman akong pinagsisihan. Dahil meron namang time talaga na masaya kami. Siguro talagang hindi lang talaga kami para sa isa’t isa habang buhay.” (Talaga?)
Kylie Padilla, asked to rate herself as a daughter: “Good naman. Lahat naman ng mga daughter gusto pa maging better para sa mga magulang.” (That’s what we heard as well.)
Judy Ann Santos, asked what she still wants to achieve in life: “Eh, matapos na sana ’yung kaso ko [sa BIR]! Pitong taon na!”
Angel Locsin on committing herself to a relationship: “Hindi ako takot mag-commit … Siyempre kapag nagko-commit tayo dapat sigurado tayo. ’Yung ready na
tayong ibigay nang buong-buo ’yung sarili natin para ’di tayo nagkakasakitan. ’Yun ang gusto ko. Kapag nag-commit ako, committed talaga.” (And that’s why she can’t tell exactly what Phil Younghusband is to her.)
John Lloyd Cruz, asked if Shaina Magdayao is the woman she wants to spend the rest of his life with: “’Yun ang inaasahan. I’d like to hope so.” (Is that a … maybe?)
Bianca Manalo on her relationship with boyfriend John Prats: “Masaya ako. Sobra akong thankful kung ano mang meron kami ngayon. Sana magtuloy-tuloy. Sobrang mahalaga siya sa ’kin.” (Ay, sobra!)
John Prats, asked if he ever felt like quitting show biz: “Noong ’di na ako lumalaki, sabi ko, ‘Puyat ba ’to sa pagiging artista?’ Hindi, siguro naman meron akong dumating na times na na-frustrate ako. Feeling ko ang dami ko pang kaya at gustong gawin, pero bakit ’di pa ako nabibigyan ng break? May mga times na ganun talaga, eh.” (Gee, that sounded like a yes-or-no question.)
Dingdong Dantes, asked if he’s happy with his love life. “Ultimately!” (We can’t guess what this means, exactly.)
Marian Rivera, asked when’s the ideal time to marry boyfriend Dingdong Dantes: “Now na!” (Yes, let’s put this recurrent “news” to rest.)
