Isabel Oli opened up on her experience with her second pregnancy, which she called as “my unexpected blessing.”
Despite being happy about another family member on the way, Oli shared that being pregnant again had a bumpy journey. This she shared in her personal blog post on Tuesday.
The actress admitted that she and husband John Pratts were again trying to have another baby when their firstborn Lily Feather turned 1. “I vividly remember crying every time I got my period,” she wrote. “There were times when we stopped trying ‘cause John and I would get so distraught every time we get that single line on the pregnancy test.”
But two years later, her blessing came as she was two days delayed on her period. Oli took another home pregnancy test, but it turned out negative.
So she went to her ob-gyne for a blood test, which she had to wait for three hours or so for the results. “I think that was by far, the longest wait ever,” Oli said. “It felt like years had passed in a span of three hours.”
But when the ob-gyne called, she was given the good news that she was pregnant.
Major setbacks
While Oli and Prats were overjoyed with the news, they were dealt with “major setbacks.”
Oli shared that on her check-up, her ob-gyne informed her that a pool of blood was surrounding the baby sac, which meant it was not a good sign. Another setback was when a boil appeared on Oli’s face, and she thought she needed to take antibiotics. However, her ob-gyne disagreed as it might worsen the baby’s condition.
Nevertheless, her worries went away as the baby was declared healthy. However, she was prescribed to take bed rest and had to stop working. On her fifth month of pregnancy, she was cleared of her bed-rest zone.
“Every momma who had experienced childbirth will have their own stories to tell,” she said. “Whether you breezed through pregnancy in quick strides or took short rests in between, it’s all a matter of having the right mindset.”
Oli is currently 36 weeks pregnant with her second child, a boy, whom they plan to name Daniel Freedom. /ra
