Lea Salonga salutes ‘boys growing up to be excellent men’

Singer-actress Lea Salonga shared on Thursday one of her experiences when a boy helped her out of a what could have been N embarrassing moment.

Salonga posted on Instagram a story of a girl who had her period on the way home and received help from a boy she didn’t know.

“My daughter started her period on the bus ride home today. and a boy year older than her, that she doesn’t really know, pulled her aside and whispered in her ear that she had a stain on the back of her pants and gave her his sweater to tie around her waist so she could walk home off of the bus,” the story read.

In light of this, the singer-actress shared a similar experience when she was in high school.

“The zipper on my uniform in high school was open. One of my male classmates went behind me and discreetly zipped it up for me,” she said.

Salonga, then, expressed her appreciation to moms and boys who grow up with such manners: “To the moms raising their boys right, and to the boys growing up to be excellent men, I salute you all.

“There are good men in the world. May your tribe increase,” she added. /muf
