Sharon Cuneta visits wake of late PDI writer Bayani San Diego Jr.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta visited the wake of late Philippine Daily Inquirer entertainment section writing editor Bayani San Diego Jr. on Thursday, October 25.

Cuneta recounted she was scheduled to fly home from Ormoc City for her son’s advanced birthday celebration and fly back the next day to continue her shoot.

However, she said arrangements had to be made upon learning on Wednesday about the death of her friend San Diego, who was also known as “Ton” by family and close friends.

“I tried booking a private plane yesterday too but my producer requested that I do a couple of scenes with Richard, Kath, Joross and Tommy, and said they would just move the other scenes scheduled for after, to another day,” the Megastar wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Knowing San Diego used to refer to her as one of the “real pros,” she stayed at the set of her upcoming film with Richard Gomez, but had a hard time in delivering her lines: “Each part involving me that would’ve taken me normally 10 minutes or so to shoot seemed to take forever.”

“Nakakahiya nga sa co-stars ko. Kamukha ko na nga si Kermit the Frog sa kakaiyak, then I couldn’t get my lines straight pa,” Cuneta added.

She then thanked Director Cathy Garcia-Molina, her producer, the staff and crew of the film “Three Words to Forever,” and co-star Gomez for understanding the situation.

“And again to Ton, see you again someday, my friend. Maybe when we get together again, ‘dalaginding’ na tayo muna ulit!” the Megastar wrote.

San Diego passed away on Wednesday, October 24. He was 48. /kga
