Andi Eigenmann has always seemed confident in her skin—and it’s giving some netizens the chance to love their bodies too.
The “All Souls Night” actress, 28, who has embraced the surfer’s life, posted a picture of herself in a lavender bikini while standing in a pool. While swimsuit pictures are nothing new for her, followers noticed something on her toned torso: stretch marks.
Eigenmann received praise for being open about her body and she, in turn, gave advice about self-love.
“I have that ugly stretch mark in my belly too,” said @jimboyjanice.
Eigenmann responded: “My stretch marks aren’t ugly though, because I got them from being pregnant with Ellie. And that is the most beautiful thing.”
Ellie, who turns 7 this year, is her daughter with Jake Ejercito.
The netizen said she too got hers from being pregnant. “I don’t show it kasi (because) I’m too shy but now I have no reason kasi pinalakas mo loob ko (because you gave me courage.)”
“I am still trying to find the courage to flaunt my tiger marks because it’s a result of bearing my two wonderful boys,” said @shopaholicsey. “Ang mahirap kasi na tanggap ko yung stretch marks ko pero di tanggap ng iba [laughing emoji].”
(What’s hard is I accept my stretch marks but others don’t.)
Eigenmann advised, “It gets easier when you realize that others’ opinions mean nothing if you just don’t let it affect you.”
“I’m only 16 but I have a lot of stretch marks on my body,” shared @jaiza.em. “See you, an actress, and someone who’s famously expected to be perfect because of social standards, with the same battle scars as me, makes me realize that I shouldn’t be ashamed of it.
“It’s part of who you are!” said the actress. “Nobody’s perfect and people will always have something to say anyway.”
“And what makes us beautiful is when we accept and love ourselves for who we are!”
If anything, it seems Eigenmann loves her body all the more these days, crediting her professional surfer boyfriend Philmar Alipayo for helping her become more fit. /ra
