Sharon Cuneta feels ‘lost’ with passing of Bayani San Diego Jr.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta wrote a lengthy, heartbreaking message to one of her “best and dearest and closest friends and secret-keepers” the late Bayani San Diego Jr., Philippine Daily Inquirer entertainment section writing editor.

In a series of Instagram posts on Thursday, she recalled how she found out about the passing of San Diego after being made up for a shooting and said: “I still don’t know what to do with myself.”

Cuneta said she had been waiting for San Diego to visit her at shooting and even planned to write him a letter.

“I was planning to not just text him but write him a long, sweet letter telling him how grateful I am that he stuck it out with me and stood by me, never asking for or expecting anything in return, especially during the lowest points of my career… and through the seemingly never-ending heartbreaks that only we knew about,” she wrote.

The Megastar also recalled the last time seeing San Diego during the History Makers Awarding Ceremony where they had the chance to catch up with each other.

San Diego even wrote about Cuneta’s History Maker Award in an article at the Philippine Daily Inquirer last September.

Aside from describing San Diego as a “true, full-blooded, faithful SHARONIAN,” Cuneta expressed her gratitude to him for being a friend: “I somehow believe that he did all he could to pull me out of the nadir of my career… helped me with all his heart and soul in his every capacity to do so.”

While expressing her longing for the late writer, Cuneta shared the feeling of loss for those “who could have benefitted much more from his intelligence, his heart, precious contributions to his beloved field of journalism.”

Feeling “lost” after the death of her dearest friend San Diego, Cuneta asked: “Please Lord, remind him again of how very much it means to me that he didn’t throw my heart away by disrespecting it, treating it like trash, or betraying it or forgetting to love it in return…”

“I envy how very happy you must be now with Jesus. But it kills me that you’re gone. I love you. And THAT WILL BE FOREVER,” she added. /cbb
