Multiple Grammy award winner Mariah Carey landed in Manila on Thursday for a one-night show at the Araneta Coliseum.
“I can’t wait to see the fans, the Filipino fans. I am so excited,” the singer told reporters after arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), as reported by ABS-CBN News.
Her concert billed as “Mariah Carey: Live in Concert” is set to happen on Friday, October 26, 8 pm.
The pop icon will perform her songs that reached number one in the Billboard charts including “Hero,” “Always Be My Baby,” “One Sweet Day,” “Touch My Body,” among others.
The best-selling female artist was also recently honored by Sony Music Asia Pacific for achieving over 1.6 billion unit sales in the Asia Pacific.
She shared the news via Instagram with caption: “Thank you so much Sony Music Asia Pacific for this honor! 1.6 BILLION?!?! Wow!! Thank you to all of my amazing Asian fans for all the years of support. I love you and I’m so excited to be here on this tour!”
Carey kicked off her Asian tour in Malaysia last October 16. After Macau, Shenzen and Manila, she is also set to bring her shows to Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
Following her Asian tour is the release of upcoming album titled “Caution” on November 16. This follows Carey’s 2014 record “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.” /cbb
