After nearly three decades, Lea Salonga shared the stage with “Miss Saigon” co-star Simon Bowman during her 40th anniversary concert last Friday, Oct. 19.
“He was a gentleman, patient with me in our scenes and hands down one of the best actors I’ve ever gotten to work with. Definitely one of the best voices I’ve every sung with,” Salonga said as she introduced Bowman, as seen in a Youtube video uploaded by Tim Chen on Sunday.
Salonga played Kim and Bowman played Chris in the original ‘Miss Saigon’ produced by the 1989 London West End.
“It’s his very first time in the Philippines so please give him the warmest mabuhay welcome that you can,” Salonga added.
They performed “Sun and Moon” and “The Last Night of the World” – both songs from “Miss Saigon.”
Other special guests at her concert were Mark Bautista, Esang de Torres and her daughter Nicole Chien.
“Lea Salonga: The 40th Anniversary Concert” or #LS40 on social media was a two-day show held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on October 19 and 20. /cbb
