Maja Salvador breaks silence on Angelica, Carlo: ‘Hindi po ako third party’

Actress Maja Salvador finally broke her silence after weeks of keeping mum over the revelation of Angelica Panganiban on “Gandang Gabi Vice.” In the Sept. 23 episode of GGV, Panganiban revealed to Vice Ganda that ex-boyfriend Carlo Aquino broke up with her after six years of being together for another woman—Salvador.
Salvador, on her end, had been silent about the matter until “Magandang Buhay” co-host Melai Cantiveros asked her in their Oct. 17 episode about Aquino. It was during this moment that Salvador decided to settle things, as she shared that she and Panganiban have been getting bashed lately.
“Sige, ito na siguro ang pagkakataon… Yung GGV, may lumabas na GGV, okay, may mga nag-agree at disagree, may mga nangbabash sa akin may nangbabash kay Angelica,” Salvador told the audience and the co-hosts of the show. “Pero sabihin na natin na nagamit yung term na third party.”
As per Salvador, Panganiban explained in the GGV episode that Aquino broke up with her first before pursuing Salvador. What isn’t clear, she said, is that Panganiban failed to mention that Aquino also pursued other girls before her.
“Ang di lang na-klaro kasi siguro, kaibigan ko kasi si Angelica, hindi na nag-banggit ng ibang babae, ako nalang kasi alam naman niyang hindi ako ma-isyung tao. Tapos ayoko kasi yung kaibigan ko bina-bash si Angelica na parang, ‘Ba’t kasi third party yung gamit?'”
Salvador surmised that Panganiban must’ve been carried away as is common during interviews.
“Diba minsan sa mga intevriews kadalasan minsan yung dire-direcho ka, yung di mo na na-aayos yung sentence mo, diba, pero yun yun. Hindi po ako third party.”
She added that Panganiban and Aquino must’ve had a rough patch in their relationship before breaking up. “Bago po manligaw marami silang siguro naging problema, may mga ibang niligawan pa si Carlo, ibang girls bago siya nanligaw sa akin.”
“Bagets na bagets pa yun, ano ba yan,” quipped Karla Estrada, who was sitting right next to Cantiveros.
“Ang sa’kin ate, na-appreciate ko yung mga nagtatanggol kasi yun nga pinagtatanggol nga din ako,” Salvador said. “Tapos yung mga may nag-babash din kay Angelica, tama na, kasi sobrang tagal na po nung issue na yun. Past is past.”
It’s palpable that Salvador harbors no hard feelings toward Panganiban, as they are friends, after all. In the end, she praised Aquino and Panganiban for the success of their latest movie, “Exes Baggage,” which earned a whopping P206 million on its first nine days.
She said, “Congratulations to Carlo and Angelica kasi successful ang ‘Exes Baggage.'” /ra
