In her latest update, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed to her fans the result of her medical tests in Singapore. In an Instagram post made today, Oct. 11, Aquino wrote that she is ready to open her heart and share her story with people to understand just what pain her family endured.

As per Aquino, her initial diagnosis indicated an autoimmune disease. She had been afraid that it might be lupus, which was why she flew all the way to Singapore for a more thorough medical evaluation.

“In 1 month i lost 15 pounds. i was SCARED, our Mom had unexplained weight loss before her cancer diagnosis,” Aquino began. “That’s why i had my series of blood tests.”

“To be specific I now know I have Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, and yes, mine is an autoimmune disease. I am now, and for the rest of my existence will be, on high dosage antihistamines and having the EpiPen will always be crucial.”

Chronic urticaria, as per a 2015 study published in the National Center for Biotechnology Information Journal, is defined as a debilitating disease characterized by itching and hives with or without angioedema (the swelling of the lower layer of skin and tissue). Patients who have the disease are considered to have a more difficult and bigger emotional burden than the average dermatology patient when it comes to treatment.

“Severe allergies are life threatening because of anaphylactic shock. I disclosed that i started maintenance medication to control my hypertension in 2015; i also have ongoing treatment for severe migraines,” Aquino added.

Her sons, Josh and Bimby, were most affected during this difficult time. Aquino shared that older son Josh was anxious and confused, while Bimby cried inconsolably.

“It was heartbreaking to see my 11 year old crying inconsolable tears and pleading, ‘Please don’t leave me mama.’ Bimb even offered me his kidney. Ang pera magsipag ako, kikitain ulit. PERO HINDI PO MABIBILI ANG EXTENSION SA BUHAY.”

It can be gleaned from Aquino’s recent posts that her health issues may have also been aggravated by a dilemma that saw her financially abused by someone she used to hold dear. Aquino, however, said that money can always be earned back.

She also continued to thank her fans for supporting her and staying with her no matter what.

“You know my life’s journey. Thank you for being with me through the tears and victories. I AM PROOF, LOVE MAKES US STRONG. Because we know WHY WE ARE FIGHTING…for me it’s for my health because 2 people i love more than life itself still need me for at least 10 more years.”

Aquino’s prayer is simple, too: to raise Bimby as a responsible adult who will care for his kuya Josh.

Her medical results couldn’t have arrived on a better date, too.

“October 11, 1954, 64 years ago my mom & dad got married,” Aquino said. “Heaven timed i’d get my medical answers now for me to remember BEING BRAVE is part of my DNA.”  /ra
