Megastar Sharon Cuneta shared on Tuesday, Oct. 9, a video message to her from President Rodrigo Duterte’s after the Chief Executive missed the singer’s concert in Davao and Manila.
“Tatay PRRD DU30 (GongDi) missed my Davao concert because he was supposed to fly to Davao from Bukidnon,” Cuneta wrote in an Instagram post.
Referring to Cuneta as “the singer of my life,” the President said he wanted to attend her 40th anniversary celebration concert, but was not able to because of “some pressing problems” that required his “urgent attention.”
“I wish you more luck. Plenty of it. Mabuhay ka and may you remain beautiful with the next one thousand years,” the President also said.
“There are more important things than a concert when you are the President of the Philippines!” Cuneta wrote in her Instagram post.
The Megastar also joked: “Na Gong Yoo na nga, Tatay Gong Di pa! Hahaha! Joke lang po!”
She, then, proceeded on thanking the President for his message, expressing how much it meant to her.
Cuneta recently marked her 40th year in the industry with her sold-out concert “Sharon: My 40 Years” held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sept. 28. She also brought the show to Davao on Aug. 3 which was held at the SMX Convention Center Davao. /muf
