Piolo: Iñigo taking hard-earned lessons to heart

Piolo Pascual doesn’t take fatherhood lightly. In fact, he uses his failures as much as his triumphs to inculcate a sense of responsibility and gratefulness in Iñigo, who turned 21 last month.

Asked what he has learned from his 20-year career that he instills in his only son, the heartthrob says he teaches by example: “It doesn’t hurt that he was raised well by his mom and lolo,” Piolo points out. “But, Iñigo also sees how hard my work is. With that alone, I am able to make him realize that it isn’t always sunshine. Show dedication to your craft. Stay humble, because the people you meet going up are the same ones you see going down. So, I always remind him, ‘Appreciate the people around you.’ They aren’t just there to do their jobs well; they also care about you.” Father knows best, indeed. —RITO ASILO
