Kanye West’s spontaneous rant on “Saturday Night Live” last Sept. 27 may not have made it to the airwaves, but it still left wife Kim Kardashian supposedly embarrassed.
The backlash from his statements was “embarrassing for her and her family, but she will never say that,” a source said, according to People.
However, Kardashian reportedly will still stand by her husband and believes he is entitled to his own opinion.
The rapper took the mic after SNL host Adam Driver signed off. West claimed that he was told not to wear his red “Make America Great Again” hat onstage.
“You see they laughing at me. You heard ’em, they scream at me, they bully me. They bullied me backstage, they said, ‘Don’t go out there with that hat on.’ They bullied me backstage. They bullied me,” he said.
“And then they say I’m in a sunken place. You want to see the sunken place? Okay, I’ma listen to y’all now,” he said as he removed his hat.
He placed the hat back on and said, “Or I’ma put my Superman cape on, which means you can’t tell me what to do.”
“Follow your heart and stop following your mind,” West proclaimed.
He also claimed that news was “90 percent liberal” and “one-sided” and eventually broke into song.
West, who now wants to be called “Ye,” has received flak for his statements, including one from an Instagram post where he wears the MAGA hat. “We will no longer outsource to other countries,” he declared and called for abolishing the 13th amendment — which abolished slavery in the US.
Lana del Rey, who performed in West and Kardashian’s wedding, responded to his pro-Trump sentiments: “If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous — then you need an intervention as much as he does.”
Kardashian has remained publicly silent about the situation and her differing politics with her husband after she voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 elections. She has continued tweeting about her husband, promoting his upcoming album “Yandhi.” Niña V. Guno /ra
