Television host Korina Sanchez on Friday bade farewell to her pet pitbull Simone, who died due to kidney failure.

“I can only remember Simone now about how her last months were the best she could have had, given circumstances. Run freeing Heaven, Simone. I will see you and everyone up there again one joyous day,” Sanchez said in an Instagram post.

Sanchez said she took care of Simone for five months and was already suffering from a failing kidney.

“When I took Simone, the sweet pittie from the shelter she already had a failing kidney. I knew her days were numbered. But this is my self-inflicted heartache. I take the old and sick and try to give them their best life for whatever time they have left,” she said.

Before Korina adopted her, Simone was in the care of CARA, an animal welfare organization, for five years. /kga
