Old-timers sabotage newbies’ venture

12:25 AM September 19, 2018

It was not the first time that Cantankerous Stalwarts sabotaged the chances of luckless newcomers to succeed.

Raucous Entrepreneurs were fast on their way to another rousing triumph. Until CS planted all sorts of booby traps in REs’ path. REs were derailed, but remained focused on the prize.

CS’ minions were just as tenacious. After all, they were determined to bolster the stock of fave wards, and no one could stand in their way. Surely, not REs—even though they were also building up CS’ pet, Astonishing Player.

FEATURED STORIES

Professional flirt

It’s official. Vivacious Chatterbox has dumped Ostentatious Dandy.

VC was under OD’s spell for a while. But then OD was suspected of filching moolah from VC’s coffers. That proved to be the final straw.

Now, OD is on the lookout for new options.

OD quickly bounces back after each misstep, says an acquaintance.

A spy once witnessed how OD openly flirted with a complete stranger, after finding out about the prospect’s hefty bank account.

Starlet wars

It was bound to happen.

According to the rumor mill, catty starlets didn’t exactly hit it off.

Hot Nymphet and Manic Ingénue were not too fond of Bodacious Rabble-rouser, who can be a tad daffy.

Indeed, BR might come across as weird to clueless coworkers. True enough, HN and MI got turned off with BR’s unpredictable mood swings. The bigwigs forced them to make nice in public, however.

After all, they were hired to be chummy . . .

Brewing brouhaha

There is a brewing brouhaha between the camps of Gaudy Vixen and Gregarious Stunner.

GV’s team cooked up a scandalous gimmick for GS.

Alas, the suits nixed the whole hullabaloo. Driven Gadfly lobbied adamantly against the gambit, which would put GS on the spot.

Other observers feel it was about time for GS to shake things up a bit. After all, GS is a little long in the tooth and should be more decisive.

The execs took care of the bill, so as not to ruffle the feathers of GV, who’s still smarting from the debacle.

Not worth the trip

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:

There are a few chinks in the saccharine armor of Vibrant Celeb.

Former neighbors are exasperated with VC. Every time there’s a special occasion in the old village, they would invite VC.

Unfortunately, VC is always unavailable … or is it uninterested?

Is it because the talent fee is way too small? After all, VC can easily earn quadruple that amount for gigs in nearby places.

In the age of skyrocketing fuel prices, perhaps VC isn’t so keen to motor so far away for a tiny sum.
