‘Tanabata’s Wife’ named best picture at 2018 ToFarm Film Festival

“Tanabata´s Wife,” a love story between a Japanese farmer and a Cordilleran woman, bagged the most number of awards, including best picture at the 2018 ToFarm Film Festival ceremony on Saturday night.

The film also received a cash prize of P500,000.

Miyuki Kamimura and Mai Fanglayan brought home the best actor and best actress trophies, respectively, for their performances.

Filmmakers Charlson Ong, Lito Casaje and Choy Padilla shared the best director honor.

Ong and Casaje also took home the best screenplay trophy along with Mao Talas and Juan Carlo Tarobal.

The best cinematography award was given to Nap Jamir, while the best editor trophy was handed to May-i Padilla.

Martin Masadao is winner of best production designer award.

Hubert Tibi´s “1957” got the second best picture award and a cash prize of P400,000.

Keith Sicat’s “Alimuom” copped the thrid best picture trophy and a cash prize of P300,000. The Audience Choice award was given to Roman Perez Jr.’s “Sol Searching.”

Richard Quan won the best supporting actor award fo his work in “1957,” while the best supporting actress award was shared by Bayang Barrios for “Kauyagan”and Gilleth Sandico for “Sol Searching.”

Other awards handed out at the ceremony held at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City are the following:
