‘Cats’ film with Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift gets release date

The big-screen adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats” is set for a Christmas release.

Directed by Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech” and “Les Misérables”), the film version stars Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Taylor Swift.

The story revolves around a tribe of cats called the Jellicles who gather every year on a fateful night to decide who among them will be resurrected with a new life.
