“Gotham’s” Camren Bicondova, who plays teenage thief Selina Kyle, aka the future Catwoman, took to Instagram to share her message for Women’s Equality Day, which is celebrated in the United States every Aug. 26. This commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote in 1920.
“I have been blessed with many women in my life who are idols of mine in every aspect,” Bicondova said in a video. “To the women who have been there for me, who are there for me, and who will be there for me, I love you all.”
The 19-year-old Bicondova, who was a member of a dance group before landing her high-profile acting gig, added, “To my sisters who make me better, you guys inspire me so much—the funny thing is, I was born an only child, but I’ve got a big family! Happy Women’s Equality Day!”
An active Instagram user, she uploads videos that show off her dancing skills, apart from off-cam moments on the “Gotham” set.
On her recently cropped hair, Bicondova was asked by a fan if she’ll be sporting it in the fifth season of the show. She replied: “I like this for me. I don’t want this to be Selina.”—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
