‘Miss Granny’ sets record for highest single-day gross for a local movie

The much-awaited Filipino adaptation of the South Korean film “Miss Granny” has proven itself in the box office, reaching P77 million gross sales to date, and setting the record for the highest single day gross for a local movie in 2018.

Film producer Viva Films made the announcement on Tuesday via Instagram.

On its opening day, gross sales have breached the P21-million mark, which was repeated on the second day with a P20-million gross.

Top-billed by Sarah Geronimo, James Reid, and Xian Lim, the movie is about a 70-year-old woman who finds herself trapped inside the body of her 20-year-old self. In its original version, the lead was played Korean actress Shim Eun-Kyun.

“Miss Granny” is currently showing in cinemas nationwide. /ee
