Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez welcomed some special guests into their home recently, and their boy Nate looked very happy to see them.

The 6-year-old son of Alcasid and Velasquez was excited when he again saw his godmother Michelle van Eimeren, along with her daughters Sarah and Leila. Nate’s dad documented and later posted a video of the moment on his Instagram page, Aug. 20.

In the video, Velasquez could be seen telling her boy “Come on here!” Moments later, Nate jumps in delight as someone arrived from the elevator. He picks up his puppy Chanel, then van Eimeren and the girls walk in the room. Velasquez and Nate give van Eimeren a hug.

Masarap sa puso, ‘di ba?” the crooner told the talk show host about being a dad. “Hindi pwedeng hindi ko ma-miss lahat ng mga milestones, kahit yung mga maliliit.”

(It feels heartwarming, right? I can’t miss a milestone, even from the littlest things.)

Alcasid shared about how committed he was on being a dad, such as when he went flying to Australia even for a day so as not to miss Leila’s 16th birthday. He added that he does not miss Nate’s school activities as well, such as Linggo ng Wika.

According to Alcasid, Nate seemed to inherit a combination of his and Velasquez’s talents, such as in singing and songwriting.

But how does the crooner feel about his daughters’ love lives?

He recalled when Leila had a boyfriend: “Wala naman, parte lang naman ‘yan ng buhay.” (It’s nothing, it’s a part of life.) He then admitted that he shared her pain as she went through the breakup. So to comfort her, he told her, “Anak, lahat kaming mga lalaki, walang kwenta.” (My child, all of us boys are worthless.)

All of Alcasid’s kids Sarah, Leila and Nate are set to take the stage for their father’s concert, titled “OA: Ogie Alcasid 30th Anniversary”. The event will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. Katrina Hallare/JB
