Taylor Swift relives groping case a year after

Taylor Swift

A year after winning her sexual assault case against a radio host who groped her, Taylor Swift turned emotional as she recalled the said incident during her “Reputation” tour’s stop in Tampa, Florida on Aug. 14.

“Looking back, this exact day a year ago, I wasn’t playing a sold-out stadium in Tampa. I was in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado. I was there for a sexual assault case and this day a year ago was the day the jury sided in my favor and said that they believed me,” she told the crowd while playing the piano.

“I just want to say that I’m sorry to everyone who wasn’t believed, because I don’t know what turn my life would have taken if people hadn’t believed in me when I said that something happened,” the American pop star added. “We have so, so, so much further to go.”

Taylor likewise thanked her fans for rallying behind her during that “really horrible part of my life.”

“You guys have seen me go through so many ups and downs in my life due to the public nature of my life,” she said. “And I just wanted to say that I’m so happy to see you, have you and know you through the ups and the downs in my life.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
