Coco Martin used to drive a tricycle for his school allowance

Kapamilya superstar Coco Martin, with his staggering net worth, now lives in a villa-like residence and owns luxurious cars.

But there was a time when he used to drive a tricycle so he could have an allowance to spend in school.

“Napakalaking part ng buhay ko ng pagmo-motor,” he said in his contract signing for a brand endorsement Saturday.

“Nung college po ako, dahil alam naman ng lahat na di kami laking mayaman, talagang nung araw po ay nagsusumikap lang po kami sa buhay. Nung nagaaral po ako ng college nag-da-drive po ako ng tricyle para may pambaon po ako sa pag-aaral,” he said.

[As everyone knows, we were not rich. When I was in college, I really had to work hard. I would drive a tricycle so that I would have an allowance.]

So even now, whenever he gets a break from his busy schedule, he usually drives around in a motorbike o relax.

“Sobrang hilig ko po mag-motor,” he said. “Pag wala akong ginagawa or minsan gusto ko mag-relax kahit sa village namin nag-mo-motor lang ako mag-isa or nagpapahangin. Pag may time kasama ko yung mga kaibigan ko nag-mo-motor kami.”

[I like motobiking so much. When I’m not doing anything, or sometimes I would just like to relax, I would ride my motorbike around the village alone. When I have the time I would ride my motorbike with my friends.]

To this day, “FPJ’s: Ang Probinsyano,” where Martin has the leading role, has remained an overwhelming success.
