Alfie celebrates 73rd; Imee hosts victory party

Wednesday last week, talent manager and entertainment writer Alfie Lorenzo marked his 73rd birthday with friends on the roof deck of Imperial Palace Suites in Quezon City.

Lorenzo’s actual birthday was Thursday, so he waited till 12 midnight to blow out the candles on his cake.

Among the show biz luminaries spotted were Sampaguita stars Amalia Fuentes and Daisy Romualdez, action stars Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Phillip Salvador, child star Jillian Ward, Tape Inc.’s Malou Choa-Fagar, ABS-CBN’s Cory Vidanes, GMA 7’s Redgie Magno, TV5’s Perci Intalan, managers Annabelle Rama, Biboy Aboleda, Jane Buencamino and Noel Ferrer, Regal Films producers Lily and Roselle Monteverde, filmmaker Maryo J. de los Reyes, scriptwriter Jake Tordesillas, actors Ricky Davao, Lotlot de Leon and daughter Janine Gutierrez, Jeffrey Santos, Ace Cruz, Alvin Anson, singer Erik Santos, “Eat Bulaga” hosts Anjo Yllana, Daiana Menezes and Sam YG.

‘Pintakasi’ night

On Saturday night, Ilocos Norte Gov. and film producer Imee Marcos threw a victory bash for her pet project, “Pintakasi,” which won best picture in the indie section of the recent Metro Manila Film Festival.

The film’s supporters trooped to B-Side at The Collective, a youth party place along Malugay St. in Makati.

Leading the revelry were the film’s stars John Wayne Sace, JM Guzman, Jeremiah “Maya” Carandang of Philippine All-Stars and Alwyn Uytingco who was with girlfriend Jennica Garcia. Also spotted were filmmakers Brillante Ma. Mendoza, Mark Meily and Danny Añonuevo, “Zombadings” producer Raymond Lee, Camarines Sur Gov. LRay Villafuerte and son Miguel Villafuerte.

Imee’s three sons – Borgy, Michael and Matthew Manotoc – were her attentive escorts. Matthew helped put together the movie’s edgy, urban soundtrack, she said, “and introduced me to hip-hop.”

On February 8, “Pintakasi” will be screened in SM malls – Megamall, Mall of Asia, Fairview, Marikina, North Edsa, Cebu and Iloilo; on Feb. 28, SM Baguio, Davao and Batangas.
