Anne Curtis’ take on why her ‘singing’ is a hit: ‘It’s the authenticity’

Anne Curtis

She’s just loved by the people no matter what she does.

Kapamilya award-winning actress Anne Curtis has already proven herself as an A-list actress, brand endorser, host, and model.

As the dreamer that she is, she just did not let another passion go unfulfilled.

Despite knowing that she does not – in reality – possess a good singing voice, her “singing” career, still managed to get her up the concert stage and perform.

Now, she gets one more chance at showing that “passion” through one concert titled “Anne Kulit: Promise Last na ‘To” this August 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Why people patronize her “craziness” is simple.

“Siguro it’s the authenticity that they get na hindi ako nagkukunwari na magaling akong kumanta, ” she said Tuesday during the grand press conference for her concert.

(Maybe it’s the authenticity that they get that I don’t pretend that I am good at singing.)

“I’m just very true and there [has] to be fun and kaya siguro nagegets ng mga tao yun natutuwa sila sa ganon (that may be why people get it and they are happy with that). They’re part of the crazy journey. Thankful ako na (I am thankful that) they’re supporting my craziness,” she added.

As this is a real major concert, her guests are likewise concert stalwarts such as pop royalty Sarah Geronimo and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

Of course, she would have to come at par with the two superstars.

“‘Yung kay Sarah G. sasabayan talaga ako sa sing and dance niya,” she said about Geronimo.

(Sarah G. will really accompany me with her song and dance.)

On the other hand, she would have to risk her vocal chords as she belts out all of her in a showdown with the songbird.

“Yung kay Ms Reg, talagang bosesan,” she said.

(With Ms Reg, it’s really the voice.)

She is also set to give her all as she sings with the vocalists of iconic OPM band Aegis.

She first held a sold-out concert titled “The Forbidden Concert: AnneKapal” in 2014.
