Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto said she was ready to graduate from teen roles and was “very much open” to do more sensual scenes with on-screen partner Joshua Garcia.

“I’m very open, I also feel that we’re above 20, we’re 21 turning 22, I also feel like it’s also healthy to be able to explore and take a little bit of risk coz’ in reality when we fall in love, there are no limitations,” she said Monday at the grand press conference of her upcoming teleserye “Ngayon at Kailanman” which she top-bills with Garcia.

Barretto expressed excitement over doing “challenging” scenes that would test her limits as a mature actress.

“I’m also happy (because) I (feel) that (in) ‘Ngayon at Kailanman,’ our roles (are becoming more) mature and we’re adults now. I’m very much open. I’m very much excited about scenes that will challenge both of us,” she added.

The two have been very open about their special feeling for each other. Calling each other “Baba,” they never shied away from showing their affection for each other. This special relationship helped them further bring out a better performance, especially in their scenes together.

“In real life, we’re so comfortable (that we could explore with each other in the scenes, especially if there is need to be a bit) intimate or (the scenes are becoming somewhat) sensual. We’re more open. It’s a different level of trust (that we know we could take care of each other),” she said.

“Ngayon at Kailanman” is an ode to classic Filipino teleseryes about star-crossed lovers who must fight all odds to be together. Garcia is Inno, an heir of the powerful Cortes clan, and Barretto is Eva, a street-wise girl who grew up in the slums.

This JoshLia starrer is set to make television debut starting August 20.
