Miss World 2013 Megan Young indulged her fans to a free-for-all question and answer on Instagram last Aug. 13, responding to a multitude of inquiries ranging from her relationship to actor-model Mikael Daez and the countries she’s visited to what she eats in a day and her biggest insecurity.
Using the hashtag #AskMegan, Young took her time answering the questions on her Instagram Stories, one of which was whether she eats rice on the daily. Young, who is naturally slim and statuesque, wrote that she does.
“Yes!!!” wrote Young. “I NEED carbs. I just make sure I eat the right amount I need.”
Beauty queen and all, one probably would think Young spends all her days dieting and drinking green juice, but Young further shared that she, too, treats herself to the occasional unhealthy junk food.
“I treat myself to fast food and junk too hehehe,” she said. “But always in moderation.”
Another question asked of Young was, “Megan, do you still have insecurities? Can you share some?”
Young said that she is insecure about her feet.
“I always ask the director’s to not show them or I ask for a double,” she replied. “I know this is lame but for me it’s my biggest insecurity and I wanna hide like this whenever I get teased.”
Accompanying her answer was a snap of her wrapped in a blanket from head to toe, hiding her entire body.
Young, too, was asked for advice in regard to becoming a beauty queen. “My dream is to become a beauty queen like you,” the question went. “Any advices [sic]?”
Young was practical in her advice that one should do research on the kind of pageant they want to join.
“Research about the organization you want to work with – MU (Miss Universe), MW (Miss World), MI (Miss International), ME (Miss Earth) at iba pa!” wrote Young. “Know what you’re getting into so that you’re prepared and can have fun after all that training & research.’
Young was one of the strongest contenders during the Miss World pageant back in 2013, emerging into the semifinal round with the highest scores. She eventually conquered the pageant and was crowned Miss World during coronation night.
“Take criticism constructively,” Young further wrote. “Have a positive outlook, always be a better version of who you were the day before.”
Lastly, “Be nice.” /ra
