Frankie Pangilinan
Young singer Frankie Pangilinan has scored quite a huge gig, as the front act in the Manila concert of 1980s British band Workshy.
Frankie’s mom, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, explained on Instagram that she’s thrilled for her daughter because the group was her fave back in the day.
Turned out Mega was the one who had introduced the band’s songs to the teenager, who’s now in 11th grade.
The 17-year-old budding performer will make her solo stage debut (beyond the usual guestings in her mother’s concerts) in “Workshy Live in Manila,” at The Theatre in Solaire tonight.

What are your thoughts that you are doing the front act for Workshy? I’m definitely nervous! But I’m really excited too, of course. It’s my first time ever performing solo this way and I just hope that I can do my best!
Are you familiar with their music? What do you like about their songs? I’d heard a couple of their hits before, but I’ve definitely gotten a chance to listen to more of their songs now. Their sound is really smooth and mellow, and it just feels good to listen to them. I love the group’s vibe!
Aren’t they your mom’s favorite? She introduced me to them. She knows I like music that’s a little different from what’s mainstream, and she’s been really excited for me and super supportive!
How are you preparing for the concert? Practicing a lot, for sure! Trying to eat less candy, as well (which is admittedly a little difficult, given my sweet tooth), and lots of prayers just so that things go smoothly.
