Actress Jewel Mische gave birth last July to baby Aislah Rose, her first child with American husband Alister Kurzer. The “StarStruck” season 4 alumna has been posting regularly on her social media about the changes that come with being new parents, and it’s anything but easy.
“What a hectic couple two weeks it has been!” Mische shared on Instagram last July 28. “We are still adjusting to being new parents (+ to a baby who has special needs at the moment) – healing from (normal) delivery, and I’m nursing/pumping just about every hour!!!!”
Mische wrote that they came home from the hospital with a “biliblanket,” a device used for treating neonatal jaundice (a disease that causes yellow discoloration in the skin, whites of the eyes, and mucous membranes).
For Mische, it’s already difficult to come home with a newborn, “let alone a newborn with a cord attached to her.”
“Not only that, but we can’t snuggle with her full time yet, or take as much photos as I want, nor can I play dress up with her coz she must always be naked on the blanket.”
But despite all these temporary little inconveniences, Mische gushed that “Aislah has been a DREAM.”
“Sleeping well, feeding & burping like a champ! She’s super kind & chilled out. I’m obsessed!!!!” Mische said with the excitement that only any new mother would understand.
As Mische and her husband adjust to their new life of being parents, Mische also shared that their church members have come together to take care of them.
“Our church family members are bringing us home cooked meals for two weeks or til I feel like I’ve recovered enough!!” Mische wrote last July 27 as she shared a picture of a spread of fruits, lasagna, a muffin, and chocolate truffles set out on a table.
“The little stuff is truly the big stuff, especially when you’re hungry all the time – breastfeeding hunger is reeeeeeaaallll!!”
She, too, added that she has literally eaten her weight in all the food she has consumed after giving birth to baby Aislah. She, however, said that being at her best is more important than being bogged down by concerns over her weight.
“Weight isn’t my focus or concern as much as feeling my best for Aislah and hubby.”
Moreover, Mische advised her fans that should they have a pregnant friend, preparing meals for them is a surefire way of helping them out.
“Anyway, if you have a pregnant friend and you wanna help or love on her – FOOD (or meal prepping) is one way of helping her out at the end of her pregnancy!”
Congratulations to the new parents! /ra
