‘Avengers: Infinity War’ directors to produce prehistoric drama

The Russo brothers have been going from strength to strength of late. In the wake of the phenomenal success of the Marvel film “Avengers: Infinity War”, the duo were keen to seize on another major project. Now, they are set to produce a prehistoric drama through their production company Agbo. Based on an idea by John Brancato, the film, christened “The Last Neanderthal”, will mainly be shot using motion-capture technology.

Making his debut feature, stunt coordinator and actor Terry Notary will direct the film, an epic tale of survival, revenge and redemption with a script by John Brancato and Notary.

Stuntman turned director

The 49-year-old American actor and stuntman has already worked for the Russos in “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018), where he played Cull Obsidian, and in “Kong: Skull Island” (2017) by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, in which he took on the role of Kong. Notary is mainly known for his movement choreography talents, which have figured in such blockbusters as “The Hobbit” trilogy, “Fantastic Four” (2015), “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (2011), “Avatar” (2009) and “The Incredible Hulk” (2008).

Leading producers in Hollywood, the Russo brothers have signed off on several major box-office successes: notably the Marvel films “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (2014), as well as the follow-up “Captain America: Civil War” (2016). More recently, they made cinema history with the third biggest grossing film ever made, “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018). The superhero drama set new attendance records with more than two billion dollars of receipts worldwide.

Also active in the world of television, the Russos are set to executive produce a new series for science-fiction channel Syfy, which is based on an adaptation of the “Deadly Class” comics. JB
