PH party for hot-to-trot DJ Kygo

DJ Kygo

Kygo, the Norwegian DJ and record producer behind the dance anthem “Firestone” and Selena Gomez’s Top 10 hit “It Ain’t Me,” is set to perform on Oct. 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert—mounted by Ovation Productions—is part of his ongoing world tour, “Kids in Love,” which was launched in support of his second studio album of the same title (call 470-2222).

“Instead of releasing single [after] single, it’s a fun challenge to make a full album of tracks that make sense together, as well as on their own,” he told Billboard in an interview last year.

Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, specializes in house music. He was named Spotify’s breakout artist of 2015 and became one of the fastest acts to reach one billion plays on the streaming service, pulling off the said feat in just 12 months.

The 26-year-old DJ likewise landed on the third spot of the Billboard Dance 100 Artists of 2018 list, behind only Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers.—ALLAN POLICARPIO
