Wardrobe war series shelved

Ogie Alcasid is all excited for his Valentine concert with wife Regine Velasquez at the Big Dome on February 14.

“‘Mr. and Mrs. A’ will be our first full concert together after we got married and had a baby,” he says.

“Our life story is different now so our songs in the show are based on the many wonderful and challenging sides of marriage.”

Has his two daughters met their baby brother? “We are all meeting up in another country when I turn 45 this year,” he reveals. “I sometimes wish I had Nate when I was younger, but he came in God’s perfect time.”

Ogie need not worry about the generation gap. His unconditional love as a dad will more than compensate for that. The bond between father and son knows no bounds.

Why not a story for Pinoys?

Too bad that “Alta,” the teleserye of Gretchen Barretto and Angelica Panganiban, has been shelved. Or are they just revising the script?

Heard they decided to make it a bit similar to “Revenge,” the hit TV drama in the United States. Do they really have to pattern local series after foreign ones, even if two countries have different sensibilities?

Wouldn’t it be better if they dug deeper into their creative reservoir to come up with a story meant for Pinoys?

If and when Greta and Angelica’s show materializes, fashionistas will be glued watching their “war of wardrobes.”

No star complex

John Arcilla sent me this text after his first shooting day in “Bourne Legacy”: “My Hollywood costars have no star complex at all. They’re so accommodating. They allow me to call them by their first names.

Director Tony Gilroy has this American nonchalance and is so generous with compliments. It feels like we’ve known each other for a long time. No pressure on the set. Ka-eksena ko ang two lead actors. My character is a Pinoy who speaks English so dapat walang twang.”

Betcha by Hollywood, John!
