Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto has always been open in saying she adores her mom, former actress Marjorie Barretto. This has always been evident in a lot of her interviews and social media feeds that even in her latest movie “I Love You Hater,” she could not help but think of her in some scenes.
In a thanksgiving media conference for the movie on Friday, Julia shared how her mom kept on saying how proud she is of her daughter for her performance in the film.
“She’s the number one person I just want to make happy and proud so parang sa mga eksenang ganun, iniisip ko ‘yung iisipin ng mom ko sa eksenang ‘to. Even ‘yung eksena namin ni Tita Kris, ‘yung mga lines na ‘yun, si mommy kasi she’s a reader. She likes ‘yung mga may impact na lines. So ‘yung scene na ‘yun, hindi naman ako ‘yung nagsasalita pero may pake ako sa sinasabi ni Tita Kris. ‘Yung kahit hindi ko siya mga linya sana matuloy ‘tong eksenang ‘to kasi magugustuhan ni mom ‘tong eksenang ‘to,” she said.
“In every scene, ‘yung mommy ko talaga ‘yung iniisip ko,” she added.
Since the theatrical release of the film on July 11, both Barretto and “I Love You Hater” co-star and rumored boyfriend Joshua Garcia had been admired for their performances in the movie.
Garcia was praised for acing a gay role whereas Barretto’s performance on dramatic scenes were given emphasis.
Julia’s family including her mom and her siblings Dani, Claudia, Leon and Erich all watched the premiere showing of the movie. Showbiz friends such as Ria Atayde, Robi Domingo, Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador also showed up to support the two.
Meanwhile, unlike her glamorous and staggeringly worth outfit at the grand press conference for “I Love You Hater,” Queen of All Media Kris Aquino this time graced the movie premiere with a casual ensemble. /jpv
