While Vina Morales is still wary of getting into detail about winning her kidnapping case against her ex-partner Cedric Lee, the singer-actress let on that she felt “vindicated” and that she’s now “moving on” with her life.
“I’m thankful to God and to my family, who are always there to support me. I draw strength from them … I feel blessed,” Vina told reporters at the sidelines of the recent concert/launch of Universal Records’ film production arm, Bell Films.
In May, the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court found Cedric “guilty be yond reasonable doubt” of violating his visitation rights to his and Vina’s now 9-year-old daughter, Ceana, in 2016.
Vina said Ceana did “know about” what happened. “But she’s a strong girl… She’s very good,” she said of her daughter, who’s now in fourth grade in school.
“Time goes by so quickly. So I’m spending as much quality time with her as I can. I don’t get to bring her to tapings anymore. But during weekends, I see to it that I’m with her,” related Vina, who’s part of the series “Araw, Gabi.” “The good thing is that she understands my job.”
Asked if she thinks Ceana would be interested in entering show biz in the future, Vina said: “She’s still shy. I don’t see it yet, because she’s focused on school. But she is very good in singing—just like her mom!”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
