Julia Clarete has found her Romeo in Illac Diaz

/ 05:46 PM June 06, 2011

JULIA Clarete and I hit it off instantly because we are both free spirits. She’s so cool, she bikes to the studio for her hosting chores in “Eat Bulaga.”

“Biking clears my head,” she says, “and it gets my creative juices flowing for the show. Besides, it’s good kasi nakakabawas ng pollution.”

I teased her: So, is that the influence of your boyfriend Illac Diaz who’s a staunch environmentalist?

“I was like this na before I met him,” she points out. “He brought out the best in me. We cooled off for a while but we are working things out now. Super ang chemistry namin so it’s worth saving.” Seems Julia has found her Romeo!

FEATURED STORIES

Tattoo you

TV-film director GB Sampedro and “Eat Bulaga” co-host Diane Meneses are so in love. Proof enough are their tattoos of each other’s surnames.

They are planning a trip to Diane’s homeland Brazil next month.

“She wants to meet my kids,” says GB, “which is a good sign. Tanggap niya lahat about me and my past.”

Ruffa’s prom-theme party

Ruffa Gutierrez’s birthday bash this month will have a 1980s prom theme.

“I was busy shooting movies as a Regal baby during my high school days, so I couldn’t go to either my junior or senior prom,” she explains. “I want to relive those days with my party. A prom king and queen will be chosen. My peg for the night will be Queen of Hearts.”

And what is the state of her heart these days? Is Eduardo Puertas the new man in her life? “I’m taking baby steps when it comes to new friendships,” she says. “I’ve been through a lot in life so I want to take care of my heart, focus on my career and raise my kids well. When I’m secure and happy, love will simply find me.”

Rufs is a rare find. So the lucky guy who will sweep her off her feet can exclaim, “Finder, Winner!”

Text from Singapore

Ogie Alcasid texted me from Singapore where he performed for the President of the Lion City and other nationals in a charity event for Community Chest and Bayanihan Society to raise $1 million.

His text read: “Singaporeans were dancing with me and were very appreciative. No less than President Nathan was in the audience.”

Ogie’s preggy wifey Regine Velasquez could not join him—on doctor’s orders. What’s his pasalubong for her? “I was going to buy her something at the LV store and have her name [inscribed] on it, but I was told it would take eight weeks. So I’ll just get her something special at the airport.” The best part of Ogie’s trip is coming home to Reg’s open arms.
