Old gossip about Princess Diana and rock star Bryan Adams’ romance resurfaced earlier this year when the beloved public figure’s butler, Paul Burrell, told a costar in an Australian reality show that he used to “sneak” Bryan into Kensington Palace.

In a recent episode of Andy Cohen’s show, “Watch What Happens Live,” the host—during the “Plead the Fifth” segment—asked the “Heaven” singer to address the rumors and “characterize” his relationship with Diana.

“Great friends. And she didn’t sneak me in, I would just roll up,” said the Canadian singer-songwriter and photographer, who released a song called “Diana” in 1985, which many believed was about the late princess’ wedding with Prince Charles.

When Andy teased Bryan if friends meant “friends with benefits,” the music artist said: “Uh, she was just… we were really good friends.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
