Expect no dead air with Jon, CompanY

/ 10:29 PM January 26, 2012

John Santos with The Company

“I’m afraid of dead air,” Jon Santos said by way of explaining the direction that our conversation was taking. We’d have called his attention to it, but he was quick on the draw: “You notice that I start three sentences all at once…”

But finish each one he does, leaving no room for questions. Jon says this is the pace and density of entertainment numbers that may be expected from his show at the Music Museum with The CompanY tonight (Friday) at 8. Title: “Rom-Com (A Romantic Comedy Special).”

Jon described the show’s comedic and musical vignettes as “ruminations of a very confused Cupid.” The CompanY may be counted on to set a romantic mood, which Jon vows to burst like a bubble with his signature madcap antics and character sketches. Krissie? Jinkee? Shamcey? The list wasn’t finished 10 days before playdate.

“Ten days prior is a good place to be when you’re doing a show like this,” he said gleefully. “You think you’ve got everything down pat, and then other things happen that you should include in the lineup. So, anything is possible!”
