John Arcilla: No starstruck actors on ‘Bourne’ set

/ 11:39 PM January 24, 2012

John Arcilla could barely contain his excitement after he made it to the cast of “Bourne Legacy.”

“I am about to sign the contract and waiver,” he said. “I heard they are quite strict. When you’re on the set, you’re expected to work and not mingle or chat with your coactors. So bawal ma star-struck sa Hollywood actors. It’s an honor to be chosen among the stalwarts of the local movie industry and theater companies who auditioned.”

John was born in the Philippines, and now, “Bourne” in Hollywood.

‘Off-duty’

FEATURED STORIES

JC de Vera has a cute way of describing the status of his relationship with Danita Paner: “Off-duty.”

“Nag pile up ang mga issues namin,” he explains. “But when the time is right magkakausap din kami. Though we are now free to date others, I’m still hoping maayos pa namin ang lahat.”

What about his other ex, Rhian Ramos? Does he feel sorry for her after DJ Mo’s controversial video about their deep, dark secret? “Nope, I don’t feel sorry for her,” he says. “Decision niya yun. Whether tama o mali, siya lang ang makapagsasabi. Pero minsan naiisip ko rin na siguro kung kami pa ni Rhian, hindi ganoon ang mangyayari sa kanya.”

Legends, classics

It was such a delight to interview Lisa Macuja-Elizalde. Seeing her ballet studio made me miss my mom all the more. Not too many people know that before my ma joined show biz, she was a ballet teacher.

Doesn’t she ever get tired of dancing since she started at age 8? “I get exhausted, too,” Lisa admitted. “But that’s part of my discipline as a dancer. Ballet has been good to me.”

How does it feel to be married to a powerful man like Fred J. Elizalde? “It’s challenging. Actually my husband is very shy,” Lisa said. “He would rather stay behind the scenes. But he’s a stage husband and a stage father. Without his support, I wouldn’t have been able to continue dancing.”

How does she feel about scantily-clad dancers on daytime TV? “As long as I can see na pulido, effortless at entertaining sa audience, then its okay,” she said. “May sexy dances din naman sa ballet pero refined.”

Watch the prima ballerina’s signature moves in “The Legends & the Classics” with Lea Salonga and Cecile Licad on March 17 at the CCP Main Theater. When Lisa dances, the world stands still.

Third ‘apo’

IÑIGO Vicente Bautista del Rosario, Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado’s third apo

Bong and Lani Revilla are proud grandparents once again. “Our third apo, Iñigo Vicente, was born last Jan 19,” beams Lani. “He’s the second baby of our daughter Inah and her husband Vince. Their daughter Alexa is 3 years old. Our apos call us Momsy Lani and Papa Bong.”

Baby Iñigo could not have come at a better time. He’s like a breath of fresh air to the Revilla clan after the gruesome Ramgen murder.

PERSONAL: Thanks a mil to my “classmate” Deo Endrinal for granting my lambing and for keeping our UP Diliman bond intact.
