Directed by Erik Matti, “Buy Bust” had its international premiere at the close of this year’s New York Asian Film Festival. North American distributor Well Go USA also bought the rights to distribute the movie and show it in theaters.

The movie stars Curtis as a fearless law-enforcement agent who got involved in a drug raid gone wrong. This is the first time that the usually bubbly and K-drama-loving actress starred in an action movie.

The rest of the cast include Filipino MMA fighter Brandon Vera, Victor Neri, Nonie Buencamino, Lao Rodriguez and Levi Ignacio.

“Buy Bust” is one of the toughest shoots that he’s ever done, said Matti in a December 2017 report. A passion project for the director, the film took several years to make. Curtis revealed they used up an entire year just for pre-production.  /ra
