Kaye Reyes and Samm Alvero are the newest faces of MYX, the Philippine TV channel that showcases music videos.
The two were crowned as the winners of MYX VJ Search 2018 at the Shangri-La Plaza Atrium last May 26 and presented before a select group of entertainment media on June 22.
Samm mentioned that she had to make a tough choice: finish her studies or compete in the VJ Search.
“My audition was two months before my graduation. I remember Sir Andre was saying ‘O pano yan ‘pag finals ng MYX tapos may final exam ka anong gagawin mo?’”
“I was like ‘di ko alam sir, I don’t know what I’m gonna do but when I found out my graduation was the same as my finals I said grabe I’m not gonna go to my grad na lang but then it was also a very hard decision for me,” Samm said.
For Kaye, she still couldn’t believe that she is now a MYX VJ.
“There are so many emotions that I’m going through,” Kaye said, adding the she and Samm are “both very happy lalo po ako.”
“This is my dream job talaga and not everybody gets to have their dream job. ‘Yung pupunta po sa studio and then may shoot parang nakaka wow andito pala talaga ko. I’m really thankful and siguro swerte din po talaga ko na I got this job,” Kaye said.
The two ladies are joining the rest of the MYX squad that includes VJ Robi Domingo, VJ Ai dela Cruz, VJ Sharlene San Pedro, VJ Sunny Kim, VJ Donny Pangilinan, and VJ Turs Daza. /vvp
