A day after dropping their new single “Big God,” and premiering its video exclusively via Apple Music, Florence and The Machine has given the video a widespread release.
The track “Big God”—in which Florence Welch sings of love and longing over a sparse, piano-led accompaniment—got its premiere on Zane Lowe’s Apple radio show Beats on Tuesday evening, and the video made its Apple Music debut the following day.
Now the video, which was directed by Autumn de Wilde and choreographed by Akram Khan and Florence Welch, is out on YouTube for all to see. In it, Welch is joined by a group of colorfully dressed modern dancers for an intricately choreographed performance set against a black backdrop.
“Big God” will feature on the British band’s upcoming LP “High Hope,” which is due for release on June 29 and will be supported by a global tour that launches this summer in North America. MKH
