Julia Montes spent Father’s Day with her biological dad, German-national Martin Schnittka, in London.
The 23-year-old “Asintado” actress posted via Instagram on June 18 a photo of Schnittka, sitting comfortably and holding a mug. “This is what an amazing dad looks like,” she wrote as her greeting for him.
“Yes it is! Happy Father’s Day Papa… the only man I will ever love this much,” Montes affectionately wrote about her dad in the photo.
Montes’ management, Cornerstone Entertainment, shared more photos about how she spent Father’s Day with her dad. In an uploaded video, the actress was seen communicating with him through sign language, as he was born deaf-mute.
The two also rode a merry-go-round that featured colorful-painted horses, filled with lights.
She did not miss the opportunity of documenting her day with dad through a selfie, while taking a ride at the famous London Eye.
Yesterday, June 19, Schnittka surprised her daughter with a Paddington Bear stuffed toy while they visited St. Paul’s Cathedral. Her father’s gift brought tears to her eyes.
Montes first met her father back in 2016 after years of looking for him. She admitted that she came close to giving up her search, but never gave up.
In an interview on the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” in February 2017, Montes said that Schnittka apologized for leaving her when she was a baby. In the show, Montes recalled their first meeting: “Nagkuwentuhan kami kung ano ‘yung nangyari before, kung bakit hindi siya nakabalik. Nalaman niya kung paano ‘yung naging buhay ko from bata ako hanggang sa paglaki. Nag-sorry lang siya ng nag-sorry habang umiiyak siya.”
(We talked about what happened before, on why he was not able to return. He learned about my life from when I was young and growing up. He went on just saying sorry again and again while crying.) JB
