If there’s anyone Megastar Sharon Cuneta is ready to let go of, it seems 17-year-old daughter Frankie is not one of them. Cuneta can often be seen doting on her daughters Frankie, Miel and KC, and son Miguel on her Instagram page. It’s something that, perhaps, a lot of mothers can relate to and feel guilty of, sharing pictures and stories about the goings-on in their children’s lives, sometimes with — and without — their knowing.

Cuneta took to Instagram yesterday, June 18, to share to her followers that Frankie will be flying alone for the first time, a reality that makes Cuneta “proud and worried.”

My Frankie, 17 years old and just entering her Senior year in High School this August, is leaving for the U.S. West Coast with her best friend Sophia to visit some schools,” wrote Cuneta as she posted a picture of her with daughter Frankie. “But for now, my Kakie is leaving for the first time without any of us, her family.”

Cuneta shared that she had been weeping for two nights for her daughter: “I couldn’t help crying because I am both proud and worried! My baby has always had me and our family, or her Dad or Ate to travel with. I guess it’s just hard for me to accept that she is turning 18 in December and will eventually fly the coop to live her own life and follow her dreams…”

Her eldest daughter KC was the first to fly out of home back in 2003 to study abroad. KC eventually graduated from the American University of Paris in France back in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Communications.

Cuneta meanwhile took the time to thank her daughter Frankie, who she calls “Baba”, for being so good to her. “I became a better person from the day you were born. You make me want to be a better Mom because you treat me like I am the best mother that ever lived. Thank you, my Kakie for loving me, respecting me, making me feel appreciated and needed.”

And despite Frankie being a teenager with a group of friends of her own, Cuneta feels thankful that her daughter trusts and treats her like her best friend: “It means so much to me that you are always so comfortable in opening up to Mama. I will always love you unconditionally.

Cuneta then wrote to Frankie that she misses her already and to “hurry up” and get herself back home. She also reminded Frankie not to grow up too soon and to pray everyday.

“You’re almost an adult. Please don’t be in too much of a hurry! You are one of God’s best gifts to me, my darling good girl who was born a ‘manang’ like I was!” Cuneta teased. JB
