Multi-hyphenate woman Solenn Heussaff revealed to her followers on Monday, June 11, that her next exhibit would be about taking care of the country. This comes after her last exhibit, “Kalsada,” moved her to the point of not knowing where to go after such experience.
In her post, Heussaff can be seen posing with her huge painting of flora and fauna in a garden of some sort. Heussaff is barefoot and channels a wet look, wearing a yellow dress that clings to her body.
“It took a while for me to move on from my last Kalsada exhibit,” wrote Heussaff in her Instagram post about “Kalsada,” which featured the lives of ordinary Filipino people. “It meant so much for me to tell our people’s story that I didn’t know how to move on from that.”
This time, Heussaff is readjusting her focus for her next exhibit. In her blog post made last week, she wrote about the abundance of trash in the city and how it’s important to take care of the environment. She also has been tweeting lately about the proliferation of garbage in the beach, pleading for people to wake up and stop taking things for granted.
“So I continue my journey and fight for people to wake up and start teaching others about what we can do to help,” Heussaff continued, sharing lyrics from Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song” as inspiration.
“‘What about sunrise, what about rain, what about all the things that you said we were to gain,’” wrote Heussaff. “’What about flowering fields, is there a time? What about all the dreams that you said was yours and mine.’”
“So here it is, raw and in all simplicity, the theme to my next exhibit,” said Heussaff. “WHAT OUR CHILDREN MIGHT NOT SEE.”
She promised too that her next exhibit would deliver a hair-raising experience, and chose not to reveal any of her works until the date of the exhibit itself, which she also did not share.
“I will make sure it will be a ‘balahibo standing’ experience. And for that, I won’t be posting any of my works till day X. See you all next year.” /ra
