What separates teenybopper actors from more serious ones is the choice of role, and normally, sexy portrayals are what makes an actor shed his wholesome image.
With such compelling appeal and bad boy charisma, 23-year-old Kapuso heartthrob Kiko Estrada is now ready to take off his clothes and tackle sexier roles.
“I take acting very seriously,” Estrada told a few members of the entertainment press who visited the last shooting day of his upcoming film “Walwal” on Tuesday.
“At the start of my career, I didn’t go sexy just because I want to be known as a good actor and nothing more,” he said. “But now I understand that you have to slim down to get good roles. I pick my roles. I don’t accept just for the sake of having a role.”
Butt exposure in new film
So for “My Stepmother’s Lover,” he agreed to expose his butt – because the material was good and the director holds reputation in acclaimed compelling films.
“Oh yeah I’m doing one by director Adolf Alix Jr.,” he said. “You’ll see me half [naked]. You’ll see a butt there for sure. I accepted the role because I knew it was [by] an award-winning director. I’m with Sunshine Cruz. [With] this one, I’m hoping that we join a film fest.”
He may have decided to give away his back end, but the front is non-negotiable. He will never do frontal nudity.
“If the script is good [I can go through such lengths], except frontal,” he said. “I’m never going to do a frontal. I’m not a bold star. There are limitations to what you can show.”
Gearing towards the sexy route, he is also not closed to the idea of doing a gay film – but only if it meets his three criteria.
“My answer to that is: Sino ‘yung leading man na kasama ko? Sino ‘yung direktor? And pang film fest ba ‘yan?”
