‘New environment’ allows Maine to ‘see the big picture’

Maine Mendoza’s hosting duties in “Eat Bulaga!”—which entails daily visits to different barangays and close interactions with their residents—have made her realize just how blessed she is in life, and helped her put things in perspective.

“I learned that life is hard and, sometimes, extra difficult for some. I’ve seen the big picture and realized that I’m blessed to have been given a complete family, supportive friends and a career,” Maine, who’s part of “Sugod Bahay” portion of the noontime variety show’s “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment, said in a press statement.

“To be honest, I’m not used to this new environment. But I love connecting with people,” added Maine, who’s celebrating her third anniversary with “Eat Bulaga!” this year. “I want to know their stories and what they’re going through.”

The 23-year-old star likewise recognized the fact that she managed to attain her success in a short span of time. And this, she pointed out, inspires her to “be grateful always.”

While she has dabbled in acting, both in television and film, Maine said hosting comes more naturally to her. “I see myself doing this for a long time—hosting. I can’t imagine myself leaving ‘Eat Bulaga,’” stressed Maine, who would also love to try other things in the future. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
