WATCH: Bea Alonzo rocks with fresh new look for movie with Aga Muhlach

To prepare for her upcoming movie with Aga Muhlach, Bea Alonzo got a fresh new look in line with her character.

The Kapamilya actress shared with her fans her major change in her first vlog on her YouTube channel on Friday.

Alonzo said she was both “excited and nervous” to cut her hair short. She envisioned her role, named Ali, in the new flick as “quirky and fun” and different from those she played before.

Yung peg ko sa kanya [is] fun but not trying,” Alonzo further said, “kasi yung character ko meron akong sakit sa puso.” She described the movie as heavy, so she wants to give “sunshine” to it.

(What I think of her is fun but not trying because my character suffers from a heart ailment.)

As she sat down in the salon chair and let hairdresser Celeste Tuviera snip her hair, Alonzo told her her hair would make her Ali “more fun and liberating.”

Tuviera shared what she learned from her last training about how hair compliments a person: “It’s personality.”

She went on: “It’s not about anymore  ‘Ay di pwede sa’kin maiksi (Oh, short hair doesn’t suit me) because my face is too round.’ It doesn’t work anymore.” The stylist stressed: “Bottomline is personality; the suitability to your personality.”

As Alonzo saw the results, she repeatedly said, “Oh my god!” She also commented about herself: “Kamukha ko si Bela (Padilla).” (I look like Bela.)

Turning to the camera, she asked her followers about her look: “Is it a French bob or a Dutch bob?” Her stylist replied: “I don’t even understand! I’m a hairdresser and I don’t understand na…I don’t understand the Dutch and the French bob.” To end their guessing game, Alonzo settled with “The Bea Bob.”

Stepping out of the salon, Alonzo expressed she was loving her look. She expressed excitement, saying: “Naisip ko na yung mga outfit and makeup na gusto kong gawin for this haircut (I already thought of the outfit and the makeup I want to do for this haircut).”

She and Muhlach are currently  in Vancouver, Canada, to work on their film. The untitled project will be directed by Paul Soriano.  /ra
