Former presidential daughter Kris Aquino, prior to being one of the highest paid Filipino celebrities, as everyone knows, was already born to privilege.

She came from the highly influential and wealthy family of Aquino and Cojuangco. However, contrary to public perception, she revealed that she was never part of the inheritance of her late mother, former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino from the very start.

It is no doubt that a mother’s love is the most divine force. A mother hurts the most because she loves the most. This, just like with everyone else, has been true for Kris and her mom.

At a rare live interview with veteran showbiz journalist Cristy Fermin on her show “Cristy FerMinute,” Kris revealed that the “most painful” challenge ever to hit her and her mom was during her unexpected pregnancy with her first born Joshua Aquino Salvador, her son with former partner veteran actor Philip Salvador. Indeed, it was the first time that her mom hardened her heart for her because she did not approve of her daughter’s situation.

However, tides turned when Joshua was born and the ever-loving former President made sure that Kris’ son will live a comfortable life.

“I was never part of the inheritance. Let’s be clear. It was never spoken of because hindi naman ine-expect na mangyayari sa kanya ‘yung nangyare sa kanya but she made it very clear to me ‘I want that field to be leveled, gusto kong patas sila,’” she said.

“Nasa tiyan ko pa lang, pinag-aagawan si Bimb para sa commercials. Masakit sa mom ko na this child is getting everything, and Kuya Josh – because of his condition, because of his autism hindi maaasahan kung ano’ng mangyayari,” she added.

“That time pa lang sinabi ng mom ko, your money, because you have money of your own, the money that you should expect from me, nakapangalan kay Josh. At hindi ako ang namamahala nun, that is under my Ate’s [Ballsy Aquino] care.

Before her mom died, she shared that they exchanged a heartfelt sorry to each other. The late President in particular was sorry for the way she felt about the child before.

“Nagsorry kaming dalawa sa isa’t-isa about that kasi and she said, I was also wrong because I punished the child,” she said. /jpv
