Viva Artists Ella Cruz and Donnalyn Bartolome take lead roles as antagonist half-sisters in upcoming suspense-thriller movie “Cry No Fear.”
A film by Richard Somes, Cruz and Ella who are usually given perky, wholesome roles are put in a whole new different light in this film.
Although fans have already seen them act terrified in the 2017 horror movie “Darkroom”, this time, they will see them all nasty – a far cry from Cruz previous roles just like in the movie “Fangirl, Fanboy” just the same with Bartolome in various movies and TV series.
Both actresses shared that working together in this film has definitely brought them closer. “Para kaming magkapatid, minus the away,” Bartolome said on VIVA TV’s “Anong Ganap.” Cruz on the other hand shared at the film’s press conference that indeed, “Mas nagkaroon kami ng bonding and sharing ng mga bagay-bagay,” she added.
Apart from acting, both artists share passion for singing and dancing. Cruz is known for her trending dance videos on YouTube, earning her the title “Millennial Dance Princess”. Bartolome on the other hand started out as an internet sensation who is also known for writing her own songs, is dubbed as the country’s “Social Media Sweetheart.”
“Cry No Fear” is hitting cinemas starting June 20. /muf
